Each Monday afternoon at 12:15 p.m., one parishioner cooks (carryout is an option!) and delivers a meal to the priests' home for them to enjoy.  The arrangement offers our priests some time for fellowship and good food without the stress of preparing the meal.

St. Tom’s plan for HOW we grow as a faith community over the next three years is being guided by six Pastorate Planning Teams (PPT). Over the summer, each PPT will share more about the actions behind our pastorate plan framework, and by fall, you will begin to experience them. Read the first report prepared by the Justice with Peace Planning Team.

During the month of May, St. Tom's will offer nine Masses for our mothers, living and deceased. To submit names of the mothers and mother figures in your life, pick up the special envelopes available in the pews and next to the collection box to the right of the Altar in the Sanctuary. Donations are welcome, but not required for your intentions.

Recognizing that each person connects with the liturgy differently, the Liturgy Advisory Team has developed a survey to understand how you best engage with the liturgy at St. Toms. To assist respondents, the survey includes paragraphs from Church documents on what the liturgy is and what, at its heart, it is supposed to reveal and accomplish.  Read more and take the survey.

Celebrate St. Tom's newest members of the Catholic Church by providing desserts (cookies, brownies, pie, etc.) for the Easter Vigil Reception on Saturday, April 16. Drop dessert items off on the cart outside the Parish Office. If you'd like to assist with the setup for the reception, email john@boilercatholics.org.

Lafayette Urban Ministry (LUM) will celebrate its 50th Anniversary on Friday, April 8, at 7:00 p.m. Join this lighthearted evening with uplifting stories, live entertainment, refreshments & good company — with a few surprises.

St. Tom's will begin the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday Mass on March 4 at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 4:30, 7:00, and 9:00 p.m. All are welcome! Note: Masks are required at 9:30 a.m. Ash Wednesday Mass only.

Due to the inclement weather and with everyone's safety in mind, St. Tom's has made the following decisions, regarding sacraments, building and office hours, and activities scheduled at the parish through Friday when the storm warning is scheduled to expire.  (Click the headline to read more.)

In light of COVID-19 cases dropping and the direction of Protect Purdue making masks optional for most indoor places, St. Tom's will not require masks at Mass, effective Saturday, Feb. 19. The only exception is 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. Masks are required for 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass.  Masks are optional for all other Masses.  

Share the love of Christ with those in need during your spring semester break, March 14 to 19, 2022. A MANDATORY Call-Out Meeting will take place Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 7:00 p.m. in Newman Hall (downstairs).

In preparation for finals week, a special "Blessing of the Brains' will be offered to Boiler Catholic students during all weekend Masses, Dec. 11 and 12.

A tradition originating during the papacy of Pope St. John Paul II, the “Blessing of the Bambinelli” will take place at Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses, Dec. 11 and 12.

Fr. Phil Bowers, a beloved priest for more than five decades and former parochial vicar at St. Tom’s, passed away on Friday morning, Dec. 17. He was 84 years old. This Wednesday, Dec. 22, visitation will take place at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist in Fisher, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Spirit on Thursday, Dec. 23, at 11:00 a.m. and live-streamed. 

Join fellow parishioners and guest presenter Bro Zachary Wilberding for our Advent Mission from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on three evenings, Monday, Dec. 29 to Wednesday, Dec. 1. The three successive talks will take place in the Church. All parish activities have been canceled on these evenings to enable everyone to attend.

The soft deadline to apply for the Pastoral Planning Teams is Sunday, Nov. 28. Applications will continue to be reviewed until Teams are filled. Please prayerfully discern how you best can use your charisms and skills to the benefit of St Tom’s.

Due to the departure of Fr Chris Saliga, OP, in January, this year’s St Thomas Aquinas Parish Leadership Development Course in Moab, UT, from March 12 to 18 has been canceled.
